SYNOPSIS

Winnie has spent her whole life trying to outrun the shadows of the Hundred Acre Wood-once a place of childhood magic, now a reminder of everything she’s lost. Struggling to survive and protect the few people she loves, she’s learned to keep her head down and her heart guarded. But when the man she once trusted with every secret returns, the past she buried refuses to stay quiet.

Christophe has climbed his way to the top of a brutal, powerful world, but even success can’t erase the ghost of the girl he left behind. When he comes back to the woods, he expects closure. What he finds instead is Winnie-stronger, harder, and hiding far more pain than he ever imagined. Their reunion sparks a collision of old love, old betrayal, and the unresolved tension that’s been festering for years.

With danger closing in and loyalties tested, Winnie and Christophe must decide whether their bond is something to rebuild… or something to finally burn down.

REVIEW

Into the Woods is an atmospheric dark-fairytale reimagining of the “Hundred Acre Wood” with a very original storyline. The story follows Winnie & Christophe, who met as children in the forest and built a strong, magical bond. But life pulled them apart. Years later, their paths collide again, but nothing is as sweet or innocent as it once was.

Winnie is a complex, compelling protagonist. Even with her vulnerabilities and past scars, she’s fiercely resilient and determined. Her character arc is beautifully illustrated, as she reclaims part of herself she thought was lost. Christophe is opposite in many ways—once an innocent man, he becomes shaped by wrongdoings, power hunger, & ruthless ambition. Their relationship is the emotional heart of the novel, as it evolves from childhood friends to enemies to lovers, giving readers chemistry, high-stakes danger, & emotionally charged interactions!

This pacing is slow-burn as character backstories are slowly revealed through flashbacks & dialogue. By the midsection, the story picks up in intensity & becomes unpredictable—just when you think the characters might reconcile, buried secrets surface. The ending is emotional & gives just enough resolution to feel cathartic while leaving questions unanswered & will linger after the final page!

If all this sounds intriguing, grab a copy, or for a more immersive experience, mark your calendars for the audiobook!
