There were so many outstanding narrator performances this month. Here are some details:
LAURA HOROWITZ (Phantasma) – Horowitz uses her smooth and alluring voice to create a suspenseful atmosphere from beginning to end. Horowitz fully embodies protagonist Ophelia, using a wide range of emotions and a variety of pacing. Horowitz’s delivery of distinct voices for the large cast of characters is especially impressive. With such superb narration, the audiobook is definitely the recommended format for enjoying this book, and it would be wonderful to see Horowitz return to narrate the sequel, Enchantra!
SOPHIE AMOSS (Poor Deer) – Amoss uses her captivating voice to fully embody Margaret through an enormous myriad of emotions. Her portrayal of Poor Deer, the terrifying manifestation of Margaret’s unresolved grief, is both disturbingly comical and utterly frightening. The audiobook is a short listen and with Amoss’ voice and the hauntingly beautiful written prose, listeners will find it difficult to put down.
BRITTANY PRESSLEY (The Courting Of Bristol Keats) – Pressley draws listeners in with a captivating portrayal of a scrappy and determined young woman willing to do anything for her family. Pressley brings a lot of excitement and drama to the performance. Despite the story’s slower pacing in the middle, Pressley keeps listeners engaged with distinct character voices and a believable steamy romance. Despite this being a long listen, Pressley’s engaging performance makes the story move quickly.
